Montreuil is a commune located just east of Paris, France. It is a representation, like many other cities in the world, of the present reality of immigration, refugees and displaced people - the experiences of these people are incredibly diverse and largely unfamiliar to myself. These images scratches the surface, slowly digging to open my understanding.
An examination of my relationship with the "other" - of those who retain my prejudice as I seek to understand the shared space that we might have in each other. I brought fear, uncertainty and felt as separate - how are you different than me? What do we share?
You seemed unfamiliar to me - can I come closer?
You cannot walk Paris streets without the greetings and requests of those who often find themselves alone, in a foreign land, frequently looked down upon as outsiders, as problems.
